Original Thoughts 💬
A weekly series dedicated to sharing behind the scenes moments from the Original Magazine team.
Every Friday, step inside Original Magazine HQ and follow the O.M team through the moments, processes and thoughts that shape the teams week.
Firstly, how many of you have been overthinking the fact it is Friday 13th today?
This week for so many reasons has been a tough one with lots of illness in the Original camp none more so than both Emily-Grace and I.
But more importantly, we will be having some exciting new releases coming up in the next few weeks with some changes that we are going to implement as well which is really nerve racking in the best way possible.
Despite it being a tough week we released our latest digi cover featuring the awesome Musician Cody Frost. They were such a breath of fresh air to work with and listening to their experiences and views on the industry and much more was so authentic and real. If you have not checked out the interview feature, check it out now!
We also had this wonderful note from one of the up and coming designers that featured within the editorial with Cody Frost which ended the week in a wonderful way for us, particularly as there are weeks where we question our relevance within the industry…but this is why we do it! End of.

This week, I set myself the task of seeing how many ugly paintings I could make in an hour.
It’s strangely liberating. Perfectionism has a way of suffocating curiosity, play, and freedom, something I’m deeply guilty of. (A true Virgo through and through.)
I also found a twig near the desk that looks uncannily like a tiny person. It now sits among the paintbrushes.
Tomorrow’s experiment? More ugly paintings, but painted by the twig

This week I encountered a preserved bat in the backroom of a natural history museum. I, and many other goths I believe would also, find this extremely cool.

I kept seeing Tiktok’s this week about a really old sandwich shop in Milan. It clearly never left my mind, so the focaccia was born.
